You already have everything you need inside you

  • Cognitive Hypnotherapy helps you in locating and activating your inner resources.

  • I support you along this path to bring about positive change.

  • You won't sleep during the session and you are aware and in control. There is no magic.

  • It just requires your involvement and engagement.

Watch Trevor Silvester, founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy, explain what Cognitive Hypnotherapy is, how it works and how it could help change your life in this 3-minute video.

 What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy

What does Cognitive Hypnotherapy feel like?

Deep relaxation can help you to feel calm & comfortable.

Some people see the word “hypnotherapy” and are unsure as to what will be involved. Will I wave a pendulum in front of you? Will you lose control? Will you start dancing like a chicken?

The answer to all these questions is “no”.

  • Cognitive Hypnotherapy is just a conversation between you and me.

  • You will be in control at all times.

  • You will not do anything that you don’t want to do.

  • It might be that you close your eyes and listen to my voice, but at all times you will know where you are, and what you are doing and you can open your eyes and talk whenever you feel like it.

The great thing about this therapy is that people often leave the first session feeling different. You may be surprised to start noticing little changes starting to happen in your life, which gradually grow into big changes. Before you even realise it, you begin to think differently and behave differently to the point when you might not even realise why you were so worried in.

As Emile Coué said "every day in every way I'm getting better and better", why not you?

 Cognitive Hypnotherapy & Research

Evidence-based therapy

Over the last few years, a group of Quest Trained Cognitive Hypnotherapists and their clients took part in a research project. As a result in the September 2015 issue of the Mental Health Review Journal, a peer-reviewed article comparing Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH) with national results for the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme suggested that...

'QCH may offer a brief effective treatment for clients with clinically significant levels of anxiety and/or depression, widening client choice.

This is a wonderful and unique achievement demonstrating the robustness of Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy as a therapy model. In an average of six sessions, 71% reported themselves recovered, compared to 42% of people using other IAPT therapies.

Quest is committed to demonstrating effectiveness, one client at a time, and in doing so we believe we are setting the standard in transparency. This article also highlights the little-known fact that the dropout from treatment in statutory NHS services is so high that it’s hard to have any confidence in the outcome of statutory treatment. QCH is positioned to offer a real alternative and we are working hard to bring this to the attention of both the public and the commissioners of services.
